What is the current release date?

The current Steam listing gives August 13, 2026 as the release date. An older official announcement named an earlier date, but Team17 later published a release-date update and the live store listing now shows August 13. That current listing is the date to use.

Platforms and storefronts

This is a new standalone entry in the franchise, not an expansion that requires the World War II game. The developers say the separate release allowed them to rebuild core systems and move the new game to Unreal Engine 5.

Standard vs Deluxe Edition

Team17’s edition announcement lists the Deluxe extras as an NVA Boat Crew Uniform, an ANZAC and NVA Uniform Pack, and a Green Berets and Navy SEALs Uniform Pack. The extra cost is therefore mainly for cosmetic content, not access to additional launch maps or gameplay modes.

Steam was showing a 10% pre-order discount when this page was checked on August 8, 2026. Prices, taxes, promotions, and currencies vary by region, so confirm the final amount in your local store before paying.

Is there crossplay?

Yes. The official FAQ confirms full crossplay across PC and consoles, including players using different PC storefronts. The pre-launch crossplay test also included PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S together.

Some servers may restrict the available platforms. In the tested server browser, X meant Xbox-only, P meant PS5-only, and C meant console crossplay without PC. Servers without one of those restriction symbols allowed all three platforms.

Is there a single-player campaign?

No. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is an online-only multiplayer game and requires an internet connection. The official FAQ also confirms controller support on PC and Easy Anti-Cheat. Players looking for a story campaign or offline bots should not buy it for those features.

What gameplay is confirmed?

• 50 versus 50 battles between the United States Armed Forces and the North Vietnamese Army.
• Six large launch maps inspired by real locations and operations from the Vietnam War.
• Warfare and Offensive, plus four alternating new modes according to the official game page.

Steam marks these requirements as subject to change. Treat them as the official pre-launch targets, not a guarantee for every map, server, or graphics preset.

Should you pre-order?

The Standard Edition is the sensible choice if you only want the full game. Choose Deluxe only if its uniform packs are worth the additional cost to you. If performance, server capacity, or launch stability matters more than the temporary discount, waiting for independent launch-day testing is the lower-risk option.
